I have chosen to write to you today about the wrap skirt and about one of the ways to wear this piece in the office.
The wrap skirt's origins cannot really be confirmed, as being a single pattern piece that wraps around the waist, fastened at the side with either a button or a bow, one can tell that it has been around since quite a while, owing to its simplicity. No one ever has documented the roots of this garment, but I can tell you for sure that this sort of skirt has been very, very popular throughout the 20's, 60-70's and it is still an often choice nowadays.
But the question is, do we, or better said, CAN we wear it at work? Why yes, of course we can, as long as, and here I come again, we stick to decency :).
The length of this piece varies, from long, with hemlines that can drop to the floor, to short, which is a very nice choice for a ride to the beach. So, should one choose a medium length, a proper fabric and an appropriate tone / print, there they have a daring choice for either a business day, or casual Friday.
Now, it is not all about the length, as it is a must to make sure that the tailoring is fit and one avoids moving on the chair and revealing a leg when turning, or when going out for a smoke on a windy day. But let's not focus on such details (everyone is aware of these simple rules). I am attaching few pictures with my outfit choice that includes this piece (fyi - the skirt used to be my mom's).
As it is not a simple piece, uni, I have accessorized it with a simple black top and simple black heels, in order to highlight the print on my skirt.
