It is a well known fact that most companies have a well structured dress code and when it comes to skirts, those above the knee are most often banned. Usually, you take into account 10 centimeters above the knee and no more. Now, who could blame this rule? We go to office to work, not to show skin. Still, a lot of women wear short skirts (+/- those 10 cm.) at work and get their job done.
To my mind, as long as one creates an outfit containing a short skirt, but gets an overall decent image, then is good to go. But how do you make sure that you do not go over the edge?
Well, there are some simple aspects to take into account: first of all, if your skirt is above the knee, make sure that it is not tight, mind the colour and avoid strong tones; choose wisely your top (a shirt or a matching blouse) and your footwear (it is recommended not to take out your highest heels). I do not believe it is worth mentioning that the length still needs to be appropriate, so a skirt right below the bottom it is out of the question.
I have attached to this message few photos with one of my choices that include a short skirt, hope you find it interesting.
