I wrote and deleted, wrote and deleted and was always puzzled when having in mind and wanting to put down few words about the Romanian traditional blouse. I found it very hard to get it done, as there are so many things to say about this gorgeous, so precious piece, that a text at the length of the ones I am posting is not enough.
Therefore, I am going to say it in a very simple way, this piece is a must have in every Romanian girl’s wardrobe (and not only) and is a good choice for office wear, regardless the day of the week or the agenda of the day.
One can combine it with jeans, splayed trousers, business trousers, any sort of skirt, it just goes.
I for one am not the most traditional person in the world, but as someone who pays attention to clothing pieces and outfits, I am fascinated by the delicacy of the weaves done on this particular blouse, the attention to each detail of the traceries, their symmetry, all their implications and significances, the fabrics used, the perfect silk stitches and I could go on, but as I said, it could never end.
So, I am attaching few images with one of my Romanian traditional blouses, which was made by my grandmother (my mom’s mother), a purely white blouse with white silk embroideries, in a combination with a white leather splayed skirt and black strap heels.
Hope I raised your interest upon this particular piece, so enjoy reading more about it and research the gorgeous designer’s collections that were inspired by it (like Tom Fordor Yves Saint Laurentetc.)
