I will write to you today about the NYE outfit, when given a specific dress code, and how I observed it being implemented during the event I attended this year.
As I wished you to be found in my greeting, glamorous - is an appropriate, most likely, one of the most appropriate concepts to implement for the New Year's Eve party. Add a classy location and you are set.
When it comes to such a theme and one is required to #makethemstare, an obvious choice for most women is a gown. A long dress, in most cases black, red or gold. A classic is immortal, I have nothing to say about that. Good, moving on, it is ok to choose open shoes or sandals, in order to maintain consistency and be elegant all the way. Again, good, great choice, appropriate, showing respect for the organizers and the event itself.
I was very happy to see beautiful women parading this year within a dreamy location - the Noblesse Palace, wearing gorgeous gowns, chic one-piece outfits, exquisite heels and impeccable make-up. Again, very happy to see gentlemen taking out their tuxes and putting on charming smiles.
Nevertheless, there were of course other elements that made me stare, but not necessarily in a happy manner. I might have become way to picky, but I am my grandmother's granddaughter and and my mother's daughter and if I had to hear (on many occasions) from both of them: Why are you wearing that and if you wear that, why do you insist on looking like you want to, but you can just not pull it off?" then, here it is :) :
Ladies, if you choose a long dress and do not have the height of a model, please, have it customized. There is nothing that ruins your elegant look more that a lifted skirt, held tightly with your right hand above your knee, taking the shape of a homeless's drugs bag. I mean, if one wants to walk, dance, move... . Evening heels, 12-15 centimeters, they could be wow. When else could you wear them? This is the perfect occasion. But then again, if you walk like a new born calf and it is a torment to your feet and knees, choose a different, more comfortable pair. Not to mention making the exchange and switch to flats, and dragging your train through broken glass and dirty confetti, this is just a big NO-NO.
Bottom line, if you choose a glamorous - extra elegant look, make sure that you are able and know how to wear it. Chapeau to the girls who managed to do so, I saw many of them, I pay my respects!
All in all, I will not attach descriptive photos to this message, my dear Reader, I will just wish you, not a Happy New Year, but a HAPPY ALWAYS!
